An Anatomical Study of the Superficial Peroneal Nerve Accessory Artery and Its Perforators, and Clinical Application of Superficial Peroneal Nerve Accessory Artery Perforator Flaps Running Head: Superficial Peroneal Nerve Accessory Artery Perforator Flaps
In the 1990s, skin island flaps supplied by the vascular axis of sensitive superficial nerves, like the sural and saphenous nerves, were introduced. Flaps supplied by the superficial peroneal nerve accessory artery (SPNAA), however, are still not commonly used. The aim of this study is to understand the anatomical structure of the SPNAA and its perforators in the anterior intermuscular septum, ...
متن کاملSuperficial peroneal nerve lipoma.
Lipoma is one of the most common benign soft tissue tumors. The most common location of lipomas is in areas of abundant adipose tissue. Lipomas arising in the peripheral nerves are rare tumors, with most arising in the forearm and wrist, and most have occurred within the median nerve. This report describes a case with lipoma arising in the superficial peroneal nerve.
متن کاملEntrapment of the superficial peroneal nerve. Diagnosis and results of decompression.
Entrapment of the superficial peroneal nerve was treated in 24 legs of 21 patients by fasciotomy and neurolysis; 19 of the patients were reviewed after a mean period of 37 months. Nine were satisfied with the result, another six were improved but not satisfied because of residual limitation of athletic activity, three were unchanged and one was worse. Conduction velocity in the superficial pero...

متن کاملThe superficial peroneal tunnel syndrome. Results of treatment by decompression.
We diagnosed entrapment of the superficial peroneal nerve in 17 patients (19 legs) with a mean age of 41 years. In all cases, plain radiographs of the leg, nerve-conduction studies of the superficial peroneal nerve and measurement of the intramuscular pressure at rest after exercise were normal. Diagnostic tests for nerve compression during rest after exercise produced pain and clinical signs i...
